Dr. Korsah serves on the faculty of the Computer Science and Information Systems Department at Ashesi University, where she teaches courses in Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Programming, Data Structures, and Algorithms. Her scholarly interests include solving optimization problems, such as those that arise in robotics planning and coordination, and exploring the application of technology to various development-related problems. Dr. Korsah is a passionate advocate for broadening participation in technology disciplines. To strengthen the pipeline of students entering university, she co-created the annual Ashesi Innovation Experience (AIX), aimed at inspiring high school students by engaging them in leadership, design, robotics, engineering, entrepreneurship and the creative arts.

As an innovator, Victor is passionate about leveraging technology to impact African society and builds open labware for research. He has a BPharm and MPhil in Pharmacology from KNUST, Ghana.

Alaa Abbas is a rising junior majoring in Computer Science and AI at Minerva University, the most selective undergraduate program in the USA. Abbas is a web developer with an interest in Machine Learning. This summer, he is interning at at Minerva, in San Francisco, building a chatbot for students to improve the educational process through finetuning, RAG, and prompt engineering.He is also a member of Team Kernel, which won 3rd place at the AfricAIED 2024 Hackathon.

Dr. George Jojo Boateng is a Computer Scientist, Engineer, Educator, and Social Entrepreneur recognized as one of the 2023 Forbes 30 Under 30, 2022 IBM New Creators, and 2021 MIT Technology Review’s 35 Innovators under 35. He is the CEO and Cofounder of AI EdTech startup, Kwame AI and a Postdoctoral Researcher at ETH Zurich. He was a Visiting Researcher at the University of Cambridge and an Applied Scientist at Amazon (Alexa AI). He has a BA in Computer Science and an MS in Computer Engineering from Dartmouth College, and a PhD in Applied Machine Learning from ETH Zurich.

Jonathan is a biochemistry graduate who is enthusiastic about leveraging bioinformatics approaches to investigate cancer and infectious diseases. At Kwame AI he leads the data curation team of the NSMQ project. His team uses organizational skills in data gathering, naming conventions, and representation to manage high-fidelity data sets.

William Edor is a problem solver with skills in the art and science of designing software systems. His goal is to always create software that is a delight to use. This means addressing complex problems in user experience, security, performance and many essential fields that contribute to that outcome. He has a Bachelors degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Worcester Polytechnic Institute and a Masters degree in Computer Science from Georgia Institute Of Technology. He currently works as a Senior Software Engineer in the identity and access management space.

Andrew is a Data Scientist at Maverick Research, a retail audit firm. Andrew specialises in data analysis and predictive model building. His areas of interest include Computer Vision, Natural Language Processing (NLP) and AI Ethics. At Brilla AI, he leads research into the development of Ghanaian-accented, English speech recognition models.

Naafi is a Master's student at JUNIA - ISEN and an AI Engineer Intern at Inria - Centre Université de Lille. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from KNUST. Naafi leads the Question Answering team on the Brilla-AI project and contributes to open source NLP research at GhanaNLP and Dagbani Wiki.

Nana Sam Yeboah is an accomplished AI developer with extensive experience in cutting-edge AI technologies. His contributions to AI research are showcased through presentations at notable conferences and his ability to streamline machine learning model deployments. Currently working at Minohealth AI Labs, he excels in developing multimodal AI systems and conducting evaluations of large language models (LLMs). His work at Minohealth demonstrates his expertise in optimizing AI systems for healthcare applications. Nana has also led significant projects outside of Minohealth, including developing high-accuracy text-to-speech (TTS) models for the Brilla AI Project, achieving remarkable accuracy and improving linguistic nuances.

Elsie Effah Kaufmann is Dean of the School of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor and Founding Head of the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the University of Ghana. She is a Fellow of the Ghana Institution of Engineering, a Fellow of Biomaterials Science and Engineering and a Fellow of the Ghana Academy of Arts and Sciences.
